2018 Run For Child Poverty

Conquer 24 - Powderham Castle 16/17th May 2020

 

Race Starts: Saturday 11am and finishes Sunday 11am  Entry Fees: Solo Early Bird £55 - Team Entry Early Bird £45

1.Age Limits

 

>The age limit for the 24 hour Solo entry is 21 years of age.

>The age limit for the 24 hour Team entry is 18 years of age.

 

2.The Course

The Course will take you on a beautiful 5 mile journey around the grounds of Powderham Castle, stunning woodlands and awe inspiring views of the River Exe. The course is extra special as you will actually run through the castle itself.

3.Whats is included

> A stunning course fully marked and marshalled.

> Free camping for you during the event your supporters will be charged £2 per tent.

> Professional chip timing by our chip timing supplier Race Result.

> Bespoke medal and T-shirt for all competitors.

> Clean Toilets and Hot Showers - showers will be open from 6pm - 11pm Saturday and 10am - 2pm Sunday

> Basic Fuel and refreshments available at aid stations throughout  ***Please note this is a cupless event please bring your water bottles to be refilled at aid stations***

> Free race photography and access to photos. 

> Special Award for joining the 100 mile club.

> Fully Qualified medical staff on hand to look after you.

4.Medals and Trophies 

All finishers will receive a medal and T-shirt.

SOLO

Trophies for Male 1st/2nd/3rd - Female 1st/2nd/3rd

 

GROUPS

Trophies for 1st/2nd/3rd Pairs - 1st/2nd/3rd of groups of 3/4 (Small Group) - 5/6 Medium Group) - 7/8 (Large Group)

5.Camping 

Camping is free for all competitors and en extra £2 per tent for supporters to be paid on entry. Solo runners will have camping right next to the course and we will have a quiet zone in the Harfleur camping area for anyone looking for a good nights sleep.

 

We expect everyone to be courteous of others after 11pm. Entertainment in the event village will end at 12am, food and drink will be served throughout the night.

Caravans and motohomes will be in a seperate camping area - there is no electric hook up.

6.Entry Conditions  

Conquer 24 is a multi terrain race and all competitors enter at there own risk.

By registering to take part in the race you are agreeing to the terms and conditions on our website.

We will have medical support on hand during the event for your safety. No liability will be accepted by Run For Child Poverty, Event Organisers or the land owners for any injuries incurred by taking part in this race.

7.Signing up

You can sign up on our website through our professional chip timing supplier Race Result.

Early Bird tickets for Solo entry are £55 Early Bird Team entry £45 sign up today to make massive savings.

8.Registration

All competitors must register and collect race numbers by 10.30am on Saturday morning ***SAVE TIME! ONLY TEAM CAPTAINS PERMITTED IN RACE HQ TO COLLECT RACE NUMBERS AND T-SHIRTS FOR THE WHOLE TEAM*** Captains Can Register A Relay Team Without Having All The Team Info... You will receive a Confirmation Email With A Link So That You Can Change Your Team Members Details As And When You Recruit Them.  Team captains are responsible for checking team member details are correct.

9.Race Timings

>Kids Fun Run will begin at 10am before the main event.

>Daytime 5 Mile race begins at the same time as the main event 11am.

>Evening 5 Mile race will begin at 9pm Saturday night - Headtorch needed.

>The main 24hour event begins at 11am on Saturday and finishes 11am on Sunday if you have started a lap before 11am on the Sunday you can finish the lap and the time will be counted.

10.Race Result

The race will be judged on laps finished unless there is a tie then we will go to the time it has taken to complete the laps.

11.General Race Rules

All participants must wear a race number at all times. You must advise us before the event of any medical condition or allergies we should be aware off, these details should be written on the back of your race numbers.

There is no limit on how many consecutive laps you can run although Each runner will have to complete at least one lap to earn their medal and t-shirt. 

From 7pm every runner must carry a headtorch or hand light. We recommend investing in a good head torch do not worry if you forget to bring one We will be selling them in the race HQ because after 7pm you will not be able to run without one.

 

Sunday Funday - From first light on Sunday morning until the end of the race there will be an 80's theme we will put some fun into the run after a long night of running we will all need a boost. Winners will be picked after the race from our photographic evidence - 3 Solo's and 3 teams will be selected for Free entry to the next years race so make us smile :)  - (Not Compulsory) 

12.Solo Race Rules

Each Solo runner will have to complete one lap to qualify for event finishers medal, You can run as many laps as you want and there is no time limit on breaks. All runners are reminded to enter and exit the course at the start and finish line.

13.Team Race Rules

Each member of the team must complete one lap to qualify for the finishers medal and result. You can only change runners in the official start and finish area. Your team can have as many breaks as you want for as long as you like just be advised to enter and exit the course at the correct start and finish points.

14.Medical Emergency

During the event we will have Qualified First Aiders within the race HQ to deal with any emergencies. Please be advised if you are nursing an injury check with your GP before taking part. The Charity will not be held accountable for any accident, injury, loss or damage before, during or after the event.

If you or someone else gets injured on the course please contact our Emergency first aider at Race HQ numbers will be given at registration on race day.

Please also help each other if someone gets injured please help them we are all in this together and have a responsibility for each others health and safety, thank you.

15.Noise

We want everyone to enjoy the race and have a great experience we will have a quiet zone in the main camping area for families and people wanting to insure a good nights sleep. Please be courteous of each other anybody not abiding by the rules will be disqualified and removed from site. We will have a Solo camping area right next to the course for you serious ultra runners. We hope everybody has a great race and a great experience.

We want everyone to have an epic race and go further than ever thought possible! After a long night of running the doctor advised us that a bit of fun will help recharge our batteries and push us over the finish line in great style and spirit!

From first light on Sunday we will be having a non compulsory 80's Theme.....Wait! hear us out.... as a little incentive we will be picking 3 Solo runners and 3 teams from our race photography after the event to win free entry to the following year... As if dressing up in 80's running gear was not a big enough incentive on its own!
